Regent Taipei Hotel Room
I stayed in Tai Pan Room king size, which comes with access to the Tai Pan Lounge to enjoy drink, snacks and breakfast which is exclusive to guest staying in Executive floor.

Feel so welcome with all the Taiwan local snacks, fruits and sparkling tea.

Dinner at Robin’s Grill & Teppanyaki
Once we reached Regent Taipei is already evening time, so we head straight to Robin’s Teppanyaki , located at level 2 of Regent Taipei hotel, for dinner. They are one of the best-known teppanyaki restaurants in Taipei and are also listed in the Michelin Guide.
Opening hours daily:
12pm – 230pm
6pm – 10pm

When we arrived, they served us a non-alcoholic sparkling tea called Oriental Beauty Oolong. It tasted like champagne but contained no alcohol. They also served us a rose sparkling tea, but personally, I preferred the Oriental Beauty Oolong. Perhaps it’s because it had a strong fragrance and a lovely tea aroma when sipped, whereas the rose felt a bit too light for my taste.

Before the chef began cooking, the staff showed us the fresh ingredients they would be using for our meal. The lobsters were still alive before cooking—okay, I get it, they’re really fresh!

For my meal, I chose surf and turf, which means a mix of steak and lobster. Although I’m more of a seafood lover, I’ve always heard my brother praise how soft and tasty the Mignon steak is, so I was eager to try it.

Below is my main meal:
I ordered a US Prime Filet Mignon Steak and fresh lobster from Penghu. I have no regrets trying the Mignon steak. It was amazingly soft and tender, with no strong beefy smell. I had the chef cooked medium rare.
The steak came with mashed garlic mayo, salt and pepper, wasabi, and green chili. I loved how the steak paired perfectly with the garlic mayo, and the combination of salt and pepper was just right.

We ended our meal with hot tea, a Taiwanese biscuit, and gummies to accompany the tea. The dessert was chestnut with pear sorbet. The chestnut was so good, and they used Taiwanese pears, which are naturally sweet and refreshing.

Facilities In Regent Taipei Hotel
Gym
I woke up early to do a quick workout. There’s no photo/videography allowed in the gym, so here’s just a selfie of myself! The gym is well-equipped, like a real gym and, surprisingly, there were quite a lot of people working out in the morning. Towels and water are provided.

Kids Club & Balcony Lounge

Both when we arrived at the hotel and during the hotel tour, we didn’t manage to catch a glimpse of the kids’ club and the balcony lounge. The kids’ club is located on the 5th floor and is equipped with children’s entertainment, stimulating board games, VTech learning toys, and Teamson wooden toys.
Balcony Lounge is exclusively for Regent Balcony guests which are kid-friendly, opens from 3pm to 9pm.
Tai Pan Lounge

Since I’m staying in the Tai Pan room on the executive floor, I have access to the Tai Pan Lounge, which is open 24 hours. They provide breakfast, all-day snacks and drinks, and cocktails at night.

During the day, I went to the Tai Pan Lounge to enjoy my breakfast because it was less crowded, and I could enjoy the city view! If the weather is clear, you can even see Taipei 101. Breakfast is also buffet style, lesser varities but the popular salad, pastries, local delicacy etc are also available.

Buffet Breakfast at Brasserie

Most people have their breakfast at Brasserie, which offers an international and Taiwanese delicacy buffet. CNN has recognized Brasserie as one of the top buffet restaurants. The variety of food is extensive, and all dishes are well-prepared and cooked to perfection. Their pastry selection is the most impressive I have seen so far.
Here’s a glimpse of the breakfast selection. Trust me, I couldn’t capture it all! You can imagine just how much food there is and why it’s highly recommended as one of the top buffets.

Even though, I’m still full from my dinner, but I still want to have my smelly toufu!

My friends went to 圓環邊蚵仔煎 (Oyster Omelette) to try their omelette. I didn’t have the omelette but enjoyed their clam soup. This establishment has a 60-year history and has been featured in the Michelin Guide for five consecutive years.

Lunch Silks Palace Taipei
After checking out, we headed to Silks Palace for lunch. Silks Palace is located inside the National Palace Museum. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to tour the museum, but I highly encourage you to do so before dining at Silks Palace. The dishes at Silks Palace are all inspired by the museum’s popular artifacts, making it a unique culinary experience.

Before lunch, the chef taught us how to decorate our lady buns. Yes, you read that right! We had to apply “makeup” and add hairpins to the buns. Once we were done, the buns were steamed again, and we each had our own unique creation!

Overall, the meal was enjoyable and not too heavy on my stomach or taste buds. Surprisingly, the price point was also quite reasonable. For example, the Buddha Jumps Over the Wall dish costs about SGD 30.
