Whenever we think of a last minute short trip, Thailand is usually one of our go to destinations besides Malaysia, since it’s only about a 2-hour flight from Singapore. Usually we go there for shopping, beauty treatments, tailoring and, of course, good Thai food.
My oldest child had her first trip to Bangkok when she was still a toddler, but for all four of my kids, their real Thailand experience started with a Phuket trip together with their friends.

A few things to keep in mind before you go.
Thailand is very huge, and different regions give you very different kinds of experiences. Like Bangkok, it is more city, higher energy, and has a very strong mix of modern city and culture. Phuket is like a beach and resort vibes.
Thailand is hot and humid, but the weather also depends on which region you are heading to. Just need to take note of the monsoon season and flooding period when you are planning your trip.
For Thailand, Grab and Google Maps are good enough. Grab for ride hailing or ordering food and Google Maps to navigate your way around. For some local businesses or drivers, they use LINE as a form of communication too.
Set up Alipay or WeChat Pay before your trip and link your international card, as mobile payment is widely used across China. Keep little cash as a backup.
