A lot of people say Singapore is expensive and that there’s nothing much to do. As a Singaporean, I do agree that expenses can be on the higher side, but there are actually so many nice places to explore and things to do beyond the usual tourist attractions.
I will be sharing some of our favourite kid-friendly places and fun things to do around Singapore. Hopefully, this guide gives you some fresh inspiration to explore Singapore like a tourist all over again!

A few things to keep in mind before you go.
Transport
Singapore is a very small country, so our public transport system is convenient, efficient and easy to use. A free and easy trip is very manageable, and you can reach most attractions by MRT or bus.For places that are a little further away or less convenient by public transport, you can download Grab and book a ride instead.
Check The Altitude
Singapore is hot and humid all year round, with occasional periods of heavier rain. There isn’t really a specific month you need to avoid, and even on rainy days, you can easily switch your plans to indoor attractions, museums, malls or other sheltered activities.
Most Used Apps
You can download some of the most commonly used apps in Singapore to make your trip easier. Grab is useful for ride-hailing, food delivery and cashless payments, while Google Maps is great for directions, public transport routes and driving navigation if you’re renting a car.
Payment
Most of the malls, hotels and restaurants and cafes accept card payment. You can change some cash for local hawkers or the market.

Things to Know Before Going
Singapore is often called a “FINE” country because we have quite a number of rules and fines. Do take note that durians are not allowed on public transport and hotels. And smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas.These rules may seem strict, but they help keep Singapore clean and pleasant for everyone!
