鱼头汤 Fish Head Soup

In this section, I will be showing how to cook fish head soup with different ingredients. Actually the steps is about the same, just that the ingredients is different.

Fish head is well know for its high collagen, protein and carbohydrates, thus is good for complexion.
Because fish head has more fish oil compared to the rest of the “fish parts” thus it has high omega-3 and DHA, whihc is good for brains and eyes.

There is no particular fish for the dishes I have prepared, but the common fish head I always use is threadfin, salmon and song fish. Because all this fish, their head are quite big enough to make a tasty soup.

Normally I buy whole fish for the whole week meal, so it comes with fish head (obviously, hahaha).
If buying the whole fish head is not your routine, you can just buy only fish head off the shelve at the fish sections.


 Fish Head with Leek Soup

Nutritional Facts
Leek is a low calories and high vitamins A vegetables. It contains anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals.

Ingredients: fish head, leek, tofu (optional), Shallots and ginger
Serve: 4 persons
Preparation time 30-45mins

1. Clean the fish head, dry it with paper towel and put it aside
2. Chop shallots into small piece and cut a few slices of ginger
3. Cut leek into thumb size long
4. Use the cooking pot (for cooking soup). Add in a bit of olive oil. Stir fry shallots till fragrance.
5. Add in ginger and leek
3. Add in fish head, cook till both side slightly golden brown
4. Add in water and salt, turn to high heat.
5.  When boiling add in tofu and boil for another 5mins and serve.

– You can add in chinese wine if is only for adult consumption



南瓜豆腐鱼头汤 / Pumpkin Fish Head Tofu Soup


Nutritional facts:
Pumpkin is high in antioxidents which is not only good for skin but for eyes too, so don’t think kids don’t need it. It also contains Vitamins A and is a low-calories food.
Tofu has protein, calcium and iron.

Ingredients: Fish head, 1 packet tofu, 1/4 pumpkin, salt
Serve: 4 person
Preparation time: 45mins to 1hr

1. Clean the fish head, dry it with paper towel and put it aside
2. Use the cooking pot (for cooking soup), put a little bit of olive oil and cook the ginger till frangrance
3. Put in Pumpkin and stir well
4. Add in fish head and cook both side till slightly golden brown
5. Add in water and salt.
6. Turn on high heat and cover till boiling
7. Once it started to boiling, turn heat to medium low and slowly boil till soup turn milk/pumpkin turn soft
8. Add in tofu
9. Boil for another 5 mins
10. Serve

– Do not cook tofu for too long otherwise the tofu will be in bits and pieces.
– You can add in chinese wine if is only for adult consumption
